    Early Career Research Fellow in Science (Non-Stipendiary)

    51¸£ÀûÉç invites applications for a non-stipendiary Research Fellowship in Science subjects, which will normally be tenable for three years from 1 October 2024, or earlier if desirable. Ìý Applications are welcome from any individual who has already secured funding from any source to work on a post-doctoral project within the Sciences at Cambridge University, or who is currently under consideration for such funding and expects to hear the outcome shortly. ÌýÌý

    All Research Fellows are members of the Governing Body and receive a Fellowship stipend, as well as full dining rights entitling them to seven free meals a week. ÌýResearch Fellows can also apply for up to £800 a year to support research expenses, as well as £300 towards books. ÌýIn addition, we offer accommodation at advantageous rates in College, subject to availability. ÌýÌý

    Positively leading and managing a dedicated maintenance team, the post-holder will improve and develop the existing management protocols, ensuring the estates service strategy is implemented and delivered within budget as defined and directed by the Bursar and Deputy Bursar.     Audio Visual and Production Technician

    £32,500 per annum (Job Band 5)

    51¸£ÀûÉç is seeking Audio Visual and Production Technician

    Working as part of the dedicated events team, you will provide AV services and support to internal and external clients. Managing the College equipment including maintenance, installation and operation will be your responsibility. You will be delivering a high end customer-focussed service; as the primary point of contact for AV enquiries, you will be advising and consulting with clients and colleagues as required.

    You will work closely with the House Porters team to ensure that all event spaces are set up in accordance with client expectations. You will also train this team to use and manage the equipment in your absence.

    As well as your main duties and responsibilities as AV Technician, this role also incorporates revenue generation, events coordination and administration. You will be project lead on the design, acquisition and installation of the new AV equipment for one of our standalone conference centres.

    You will have a passion for technology, with an eye on the future, you will be able to strategically plan for new equipment, report on trends and identify opportunities. You enjoy a challenge, are creative and an aspirational thinker.

    In addition our will demonstrate a true understanding of customer service and delivery to agreed service standards. An understanding of the customer journey is essential to this role.

    Good time management skills are crucial in this varied role, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to remain professional and calm under pressure is vital.

    You have strong communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record information from clients and colleagues on the booking system.

    Excellent IT and AV skills are crucial, as is the ability to film and edit conference videos as part of our filming and editing packages. You will have, or be willing to work towards, video marketing skills.

    The AV Technician works within our events office in a supportive, friendly, dynamic environment. You will work an average of 37.5 hours per week. Standard working hours are 9am – 5pm, however, in order to meet the demands of the role there will be days where you are expected to work on a shift pattern between the hours of 7am and 10pm, 5 days over 7 as business demands.

    Housekeeping SupervisorÌý

    51¸£ÀûÉç is seeking to appoint a Housekeeping Supervisor for our busy Housekeeping team.Ìý

    The role involves the daily supervision and motivation of Cleaners (to include checks/inspections of areas) to ensure work has been completed to a high standard and in line with the service level agreement.  The Housekeeping Supervisor will be involved in training new members of staff and planning staff rotas.Ìý

    This is a hands-on role handling the distribution of conference and house linen, the ordering and distribution of chemicals, and assisting with the storage of student belonging and cleaning when required. Ìý

    Applicants should have experience of working in a supervisory position, ideally within a similar role, alongside substantial cleaning and housekeeping experience. A cooperative and flexible attitude is essential, along with the ability to work as part of a busy team and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Good IT skills are highly desirable.

    51¸£ÀûÉç is seeking two permanent part time Housekeeping Assistants to join its friendly Housekeeping team. 51¸£ÀûÉç is a modern college and offers a pleasant working environment for its staff, and a ‘Home from Home’ for its students.ÌýÌý

    The role involves cleaning designated areas including student staircases, student houses and other College accommodation during College term-time.Ìý During college vacations it involves suppling a cleaning service when conference guests are in residence including servicing rooms daily, making and changing beds.Ìý

    We are looking for candidates with a friendly and helpful approach, who take pride in their work, and carry it out to a high standard.ÌýÌý Previous cleaning experience is desirable for this role, and all cleaning materials and equipment are provided.ÌýÌý

    The successful candidate will have a real passion for food with solid foundational kitchen experience and excellent culinary skills. You will be calm and motivated, and looking to develop as a chef. As well as staying up to date with food safety regulations you will be qualified to NQV 3 or equivalent, Food Hygiene to Level 2 (or above), and have Allergen Awareness.Ìý

    Casual Waiting StaffÌý

    £10.90 per hourÌý

    51¸£ÀûÉç is looking for Casual Waiting Staff to start work in the College Catering Department. The role will involve carrying out a variety of tasks to assist in the delivery of catering services in all the College rooms as required and maintaining a high level of food service. This is a 0 hour contract, with flexible hours of work during the day. A variety of shifts are available throughout the week, and a free meal per shift is included. The salary for Casual Waiting Staff is £10.90 per hour. ÌýNo experience is required, as full training will be provided.
