Wellbeing

The Library provides in-person,聽wellbeing events for all college members during Term time.聽Mindfulness colouring books and yoga mats are available throughout the year to borrow.聽 During Easter term there are lots more wellbeing activities to allow you to take a break, such as the student versus library staff scrabble challenge,聽jigsaw puzzles to complete, games, Lego and a nail bar.

Wellbeing Events

The following in person wellbeing events are takaing place during Michaelmas聽Term.

Yoga with Valerie
Join us for yoga聽in the Long Room. 聽Valerie is an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 200). 聽All levels are welcome and classes are taught based on those who attend! Please see our social media channels for details of this terms聽dates and times.聽 is encouraged but not essential; so feel free to drop in. 聽Please remember to bring a mat, blanket or towel to sit on; there are a limited number of yoga mats available to borrow from the library, which you can do in advance.

Craft and Chat聽

Rock painting

Craft and chat is聽taking place between 16.00-17.00 on the following聽Wednesdays this term. 聽All materials and refreshments are provided.聽 See below for details:

  • October 4th: Rock painting (Library Court or the Long Room if wet)
  • November 1st: tbc
  • November 29th: tbc

If you鈥檙e unable to make it, have a go in your own time by watching some of our craft videos via the Library . 聽聽

Library Book Group

Join Valerie, the Assistant Librarian for our informal book group run jointly with Medwards Lit Soc.聽 Reading for pleasure and making connections with people are both great for your mental health!聽 The book group is open to all staff, students聽and fellows at the College. Please see our social media channels for details of this terms book and discussion dates and times.

Virtual wellbeing activities

Yoga
Valerie, the Assistant Librarian has produced a series of yoga video's filmed within the Library聽which you can do in your own time, with either your own yoga mat or one of the library's borrowable ones. Please see the video series on our聽.

Meditation
Unwind with Valerie鈥檚 online 3 minute . There are also different mediation scripts you can try;聽go for a walk in the forest or relax your muscles using our body scan script instead.

Virtual crafts and聽wellbeing walks that can viewed at any time, are also available on the Rosemary Murray Library .

    Wellbeing Materials

    The library has a range of books on wellbeing, including texts on studying, insomnia, healthy eating, mindfulness and particular mental health issues. They can be searched for on 聽and are available via the Click and Collect service.聽

    A is now available, and can be accessed online with a Raven username and password. The list brings together eBooks on the subjects of addiction & dependence, illness & disability, finances, grief & bereavement, mental health, mind management, race & anti-racism, sex, sexuality & gender, sleep, and mindfulness.

    The 聽have lots of information and support available for students.聽
