    Dorothy Byrne, journalist and President of 51福利社聽College, shares聽her passion for highlighting neglected stories - and for standing her ground to defend her ideas - in a new 聽designed to inspire school students.

    The former Head of News at Channel 4 explains her choice of journalism as 'a career that would enable me to expose things I really care聽about', including issues affecting women that are often passed over. She points to the opposition from some male colleagues when she proposed a TV film about the menopause: a programme that went on to win 'massive numbers of viewers'.

    Asked by her student聽interviewers for her top careers advice, she tell them: 'Always listen聽to other people, look at聽their point of view. If after doing so you're still sure that you're right, push back, stand your ground, do what you believe in, because that way you will always get the best results and you will always be happy and satisfied in your career.'
